Thanksgiving offers a wonderful opportunity for family to gather together each year. But let’s face it—if you’re the host, that opportunity can be pretty stressful, too. If you’re worrying about having the perfect table for Thanksgiving, we can help with these four simple tips from Haddad Nissan.
When setting the table, remember that the fork goes on the left, and the knife and spoon go on the right. If you’re hosting a lot of guests, you could even consider letting yourself use plastic cutlery for easier cleanup.
If your place setting will have multiple dishes, note that the side plate traditionally goes to the left of the place setting, with the drinks at the right.
If you plan to use elegant cloth napkins, feel free to make them one of the focal points of the table by arranging each on in a unique fold or display on the center of the plate. However, if the plates are what you’re showing off, it’s fine to simply tuck the napkin underneath its edge.
Add one last considerate touch by making DIY place cards for your guests. Not only is it a way to create a little organization in a crazy day, but it’s a personal touch that your guests will appreciate.
