Let’s be honest — buying used can have a spooky connotation. Everyone has heard used car horror stories of over-paying, non-stop maintenance, and lemons. Used cars have gotten a bad rap. In reality, shopping used can be a much better buying experience. Here are just a few reasons to buy used.
1. Higher Selection
The used car market is broad and diverse. Think of it this way: every car that is on the road — by virtue of it having been purchased and driven — is a used car. And as technology and engineering improve, cars stay on the road longer — deepening that already vast pool and improving choose for consumers. Rather than limiting yourself to the couple of hundred vehicles on a car lot, buying used opens up the marketplace and increases your odds of finding a perfect fit.
2. Lower Premiums
In many cases, car registration fees and insurance premiums are determined by car value. When you buy used, you’re saving money upfront and in the long run — since your car has lesser monetary value, there is less risk for insurance companies related to potential payouts, and you get charged less in premiums.
3. Value Buys
It’s amazing the difference a word makes. When a car is “used,” its market value is a fraction of its “new” sticker price. When a new car is driven off the lot, its value immediately depreciates by as much as 50%. As a used car shopper, you can find vehicles that are one and two years old featuring minimal wear and tear that are half the price of its new, un-driven counterparts on dealer lots. When shopping used, drivers can find excellent value buys on high-quality vehicles without breaking the bank.
Buying used is also a much less stressful process when you do it at a trusted dealership like Haddad Nissan. Check out our extensive inventory of quality used cars today!
Nissan ProPILOT Assist is a driver-assist system that’s extremely user-friendly, and offers the next generation of safety technology today. The hands-on system helps keep Nissan vehicles in their lane, handle traffic, and keep a set speed and distance. ProPILOT Assist technology is a huge hit, but it’s just the beginning of what Nissan has in store for the automotive industry.
Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa was more than happy to discuss the success of ProPILOT Assist earlier this year. The technology launched on a minivan in Japan, then made its way to the all-electric Nissan LEAF.
The array of systems proved extremely popular amongst drivers of all ages, and continues to make its way to more models on the Nissan lineup. The all-new 2019 Nissan Altima, for example, will feature the ProPILOT Assist system.
“[Nissan ProPILOT Assist’s] acceptance by consumers has been beyond expectations, and we’re pleased to expand its availability to more popular models such as Altima, X-Trail and Rogue Sport,” said Philippe Klien, Nissan chief planning officer.
Part of what has made the technology so successful is its user-friendly design. Activating the technology is as easy as pushing a button on the steering wheel. Deactivating the safety system is just as simple.
In addition to making the roads safer, the Nissan ProPILOT Assist system takes the boredom out of long road trips. See it in action today with a test drive at Haddad Nissan!

The new 2018 Nissan LEAF is coming to Haddad Nissan early next year and we are so excited, we wanted to tell you all about the fully redesigned battery-electric vehicle. So, what’s new other than a completely new exterior? Improvements in range; both mileage and price!
Most 2017 and 2018 “short-range” all-electric cars on the market provide 90 to 125 miles of range, where as the new Nissan LEAF is expected to offer 150 miles. It is true that there are EVs out there that can drive over 300 miles, but also come equipped with a hefty price that could start at $65,000 or more. This year’s model has found a sweet spot between needed mileage and vehicle price range, especially since 84-mile range is sufficient for more than 80% off all trips taken in America. A 200 mile version of the LEAF will also be available as a 2019 model down the line.
Now let’s talk about the price. This model starts at about $30,000 and the best part is you are not likely to be stuck on a waiting list for a new Leaf when you want one. This is actually about $690 less than the current 2017 Nissan LEAF, and can be coupled with a $7,500 federal tax credit and other local incentives; the Leaf will be effectively priced at around $20,000. This is an exceptional price for a vehicle that will save you even more on fuel.
We’d love to tell you more about the 2018 Nissan LEAF. If you have any questions, please contact us online or visit us in Pittsfield, MA and we will answer all your questions.
Halloween is usually considered an event for the little ones—trick or treat and most local activities involve the whole family. But sometimes, you just have to throw an adult Halloween party and get in the spirit of the holiday with your friends. Here’s some tips for hosting the best party for festive adults.
Send Invites Early
Even if it’s a chill gathering, you want to send out invitations early so that guests have time to get a costume ready, as well as find someone to watch their kids.
Pick a Theme
Halloween is more fun with a theme. Go for a witch’s cottage with bubbling punch bowls, or a noir murder mystery, or a decrepit haunted house—your imagination is the limit.
Have a Costume Contest
In order to encourage people to come dressed up, you might want to promise some prizes for the best costumes! Have prizes for first, second, and third place, or if the party is big enough, rate by category!
Have Fun Games
Bobbing for apples, a murder mystery game, and even thematic activities like fortune-telling or, if you have trees in your backyard, a haunted trail go a long way.
Having cocktails? Looking up a few recipes for some drinks that fit the mood can make all the difference.

Football season is winding up which means it’s time to get your trucks packed and grills ready. Nothing will help you enjoy the football season more than some helpful tailgating technology tips.
Almost everyone has a smartphone, which means finding all the pertinent information about game day is just a tap of a finger away. Many teams have apps that provide fans with information required to streamline the experience, usually including weather forecasts, stadium parking, seat locations, and more. Some apps even provide real-time traffic updates to help fans get to the game on time.
For the most diehard of fans, many apps offer coach and player press conferences after the game.
Power inverters are a fairly cheap way to keep your gadgets charged and ready to roll. Most inverters connect to a vehicle’s battery and convert the output to AC power. From there, users can connect their compatible devices to USB ports so they’ll never be disconnected.
Tailgating can get cold midway through the season. Staying warm is as simple as connecting a propane heater to get the job done. The heaters usually sit on top of a propane tank and push out a constant stream of warm air to keep your comfy on game day.
Take this helpful advice from us here at Haddad Nissan and be ready for game day!
