Nissan Announces Participation in FIA Formula E Championship

GENEVA (March 6, 2018) – Nissan has taken the next steps toward its debut in the all-electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship by revealing its concept livery at the Geneva Motor Show.

As the auto industry continues its pivot towards intelligent electric vehicles, the fast and fun sport of auto racing is making the pivot as well. In 2011, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship began with the promise of reinventing auto racing in the twenty-first century. Since then, Formula E has lived up to its promise and put the most innovative and advanced electric vehicles head-to-head on the road. Many automakers have competed in this elite competition, but beginning in late 2018, Nissan will become the first Japanese automaker to participate.

The announcement that Nissan will compete this year at the Formula E Championship coincides with the release of its all-new Formula E race car. Featuring an aerodynamic design with sleek contours, the Formula E comes with an innovative design that matches its innovative battery and powertrain system.
